United Nations Helicopter Attacked by Boko Haram Terrorists

A United Nations Helicopter was attacked by Boko Haram Insurgents on Thursday after the helicopter tried to approach Damasak, Borno State which is located in the North-East region of Nigeria.

Although the helicopter was able to fly back to Maiduguri without any of the crew members being hurt, two civilians and a five year old child who were on ground lost their lives in the attack. And yet, this is just another attack to the series of attacks that has been the cause of death to thousands of people and has also left millions of Nigerians displaced.

This is not the first time Borno State has been visited by Boko Haram Insurgents. About a month ago, a score of 81 people were killed in Borno by these same insurgents. This is also not the only North-East State that are at the mercy of these terrorists. Other States like Kaduna, Kano, Yobe and even Abuja have been subject to their attacks.

The rate at which people are losing their lives and homes because of Boko Haram attacks is alarming and calls for immediate attention and solution, in your opinion how best can this insurgence be put to rest?

Obviously, the Nigerian army are not fully capable of taking them down, Do you think the bombing of the Sambisa forest which is the new method employed by the federal government will fully incapacitate the insurgents?
