Gay Activists in Thailand have been disobeying the Thai Government in recent times. There have been reports of public gathering as against the rule of no public gatherings because of the ongoing pandemic.
Their main purpose of this recent gathering was to advocate for Democracy which would eventually ensure the equal right of everyone.
These gay activists are advocating for equal rights that is been denied to the Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals and Transgender in the society. They are also against the current Prime Minister who came into office through a military rule.
The world is slowly beginning to accept Queers. Actually in most countries in North America, Europe and even Asia, there are laws to protect the LGBT community.
Also in very few countries in Africa, Gays and Lesbians are partially accepted because there are not discriminatory laws against them, but the society is still yet to see them as equals.
For example, in a country like South Africa, people of the same sex can get married, in fact, queer people leave their various African countries to go and get married in South Africa because there are laws to protect them, but even with this, but the society is still not ready to accept these set of people.
What do you think can be done to help the masses accept the LGBT community?
As a Nigerian or an African, what is your opinion on LGBT? Is the Nigerian 14 years imprisonment punishment too severe or necessary to the secret LGBT community in Nigeria?
