Nigerians Set to be Deported from Germany

Of course, there are illegal occupants in almost every country but I think Nigeria is fast becoming one of the countries to top the list. The case of Nigerian illegally living in Frankfurt, Germany has been on since November 2020 and now they have been scheduled to be deported to Lagos Nigeria today, 16th of March 2021.
Initially, the deportation was halted due to precautions to curb the spread of the virus hence the refusal of landing permits for deportation flights, but now they are set to be brought back.

Some necessary questions to be asked includes:

  1. What do you think is the number one leading cause for immigration to another country from Nigeria?

  2. Why do you think it is common for Nigerians to risk everything to stay abroad rather than come back to their country after their visa expires?

Personally, I think that deportation is harsh, but at the same time it is necessary. Nigeria isn’t exactly the sanest or safest place to stay, neither is it a place that promotes growth, so it is understandable when Nigerians continue to live in places they have lost authorization to live in.
