The Minister for Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Farouq N500 million has been spent on school feeding program during the course of the lockdown.
She attested to the fact that the feeding program was modified and food worth N4200 was delivered to homes in about 3 states out of the 36 states in the Federation during the course of the lockdown.
This piece of information has sparked at lot of comments from Nigerians. Some Nigerians are wondering why a program that is meant to feed children who are in schools is being used during the lockdown when schools are no longer in session.
They believe that this is just another excuse to cover up for a possible misappropriation of the feeding funds and are asking for whoever was a recipient of a government sponsored meal to back up the ministers story.
Some other set of Nigerians believe that this was a selfless act on the part of the minister as she helped to feed people during the course of the lockdown.
So, what do you think really happened to the N500 million? Did the minister really use it as she said or is it a cover up story for the possible misappropriation of funds?
Which states benefited from this? Why were other states not part of it, or were they shocked at the amount only 3 states gulped? Why can’t our so-called journalists investigate some of these claims the government makes?
