Federal Government Launches First Nigerian-made Phone

The first made-in-Nigeria cell phone has finally been launched by the federal government.

The indigenous phone known as ITF Mobile was presented to President Muhammadu Buhari by the Minister of Industry Trade and Investment, Adeniyi Adebayo, to the president in Abuja just before the commencement of Wednesday’s Federal Executive Council meeting.

According to the Minister, the ITF Mobile is one of the 12 cell phones produced, using locally sourced components by the electrical/electronics technology department of the Industrial Training Fund’s (ITF) Model Skills Training Centre and it was a pleasure to present it to the president.

More details as to how these phones function is yet to be released but the major point is that, we now produce phones in Nigeria.

Not to undermine Nigerians creativity, but do you think that these phones will match up to standard?

Also, with the way things are going in the country and with the ban on twitter, is it likely that the Federal Government will ban the use of other phone brands in order to increase the market cap of the ITF Mobiles?

Do you also think that these new Nigeria-made phones are basically spy kits to monitor Nigerians and what they do or say about the government on the internet?

What are your thoughts on these?
