The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu announced on the 29th of August that Tertiary institutions in Lagos State will reopen on the 14th of September while secondary schools will tentatively resume on the 21th of September.
This has brought a lot of jubilation to the people of Lagos State as they believe that their long awaited resumption is about to come and the right time for that should be September since it will serve as the starting of a new session for students.
But their hopes were dashed when the Minister of Information announced that there is no verified information as to when schools will reopen and that the government is no ready to expose its students to the danger of the covid-19.
This has thrown the whole nation to confusion as to when the remaining students can go back to school with the hope that the governor of Lagos State will go by his announcement and other states will follow suit.
Is it OK for us to be optimistic to the fact that schools will reopen in September?
