The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the increase of the beneficiaries of the N-Power program as well as the children being feed in schools.
This was directed to the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, and now the N-Power program beneficiaries can now amount to a million persons instead of the previous intake of just five hundred thousand persons.
Although, this is a very good development but one can’t help being skeptical about this move.
There are already a lot of discrepancies surrounding the amount of money spent on feeding school children and now the number of kids to be fed will be increased which means that more money will be spent and needless to say more will disappear without trace.
I believe that even if Buhari has good intentions towards the beneficiaries of this programme, I’m sure that most of the money allocated to cater for this new development will eventually be stored in coffins.
What’s your take on this?
