The University of Maiduguri also known as Unimaid admitted 12,523 students in 2019, which is 858 students more than it matriculated the previous year.
Due to the location of the school which is situated in the outskirts of Maiduguri, Borno State, and a hot zone for the Boko Haram war.
There are also reports that security measures have been properly implemented like the digging of trenches, effective check points and employment of local hunters to help secure the school.
This is a good thing, right? That in spite of Boko Haram threat, people are still showing interest in attending schools in Maiduguri.
Are the security measures good enough to keep the insurgents out?
Should there be a restriction to the number of students that can be accepted into universities (and schools in general) that have been previously attacked by insurgents?
