The Ooni of Ile-Ife and wife welcomed a son recently but according to the ancient traditions of the land, he cannot see the child until after 21 days of his birth.
Well, today makes the 21st day of the child’s birth and a ceremony was conducted as the tradition entails for the Ooni to see his son.
It turns out that the Yoruba culture is still very much alive in the west. All were dressed in white has they sang, danced and named the prince of the ife kingdom.
The ceremony felt more like the one done in the Lion King and the prince was named Tadenikawo Adesoji Aderemi Ogunwusi after the one of the former Monarchs of the town.
