Abuja Airport Reopens Despite Increasing Number Of COVID-19 Cases

Despite the Corona virus pandemic, Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport which is located in Abuja reopens for business. This act opposes the announcement made by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority to reopen airports on the 27th of August 2020.

The Airport has however put in place strict safety measures to help to curb the spread of the virus. The airport made provisions for temperature checks, hand sanitizers, hand wash and also rearranged the chairs in the airport to abide by the social distancing rules.

The airport seems to be up and ready to receive passengers with the safety measures that have been incorporated, but will Nigerians really keep to the social distancing rule?

Are these preventive measures enough to curb the spread of the virus?

Is it not too early for airports to resume operations despite the fast rising spread of the virus?

Let me know what you think.
